Just For Kids to host golf tournament Friday

Just For Kids Child Advocacy Center will soon host its seventh annual golf tournament.

A full slate of 27 teams will be competing at 1 p.m. Friday on the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs.

The event will highlight the work Just For Kids and its other team members do to reduce the trauma for children experiencing child sexual abuse and other forms of abuse.

“This tournament provides a way for individuals and organizations to show their support for the important work that Just For Kids provides in Raleigh, Fayette and Wyoming counties.” said Tali Stepp, chair of the JFK Golf Tournament Committee. “Just For Kids is dedicated to changing the conversation about child sexual abuse.”In its 27th year, the tournament has raised more than $300,000 in support of educational projects in Danville and Pittsylvania County.

This year’s title sponsors are Linda and John Stroud. Gold sponsors include Bill and Mary Lee, Allen and Melissa Teinert, United Bank, Lissa Mohler and Marcy Nolan, Kris and Mark Serbinski, Judy Street and Jan Allen, Antoinette Starr and Bypass Pharmacy. The Strouds said they are excited to help underwrite the event so that all proceeds will go directly to supporting the children.

Just For Kids would also like to recognize The Resort at Glade Springs, The Greenbrier Sporting Club, and the Hermitage Golf Course for their donation of goods and services for the silent auction that will be continuing throughout the event.

There are several sponsorship levels for the tournament for businesses which can accommodate golfers and non-golfers.

» Eagle Club $1,000: ludes cart fees and lunch for a team of four players, first priority for tee time, corporate recognition and signage at the tournament, company recognition in promotional materials, and advertising recognition following the tournament. Eagle Club sponsors will also receive a complimentary round of golf for four with carts, to be used at your convenience at the Goodyear Golf Club.

» President’s Club $500: ludes cart fees and lunch for a team of four players, corporate recognition and signage at the tournament, company recognition in promotional materials, and advertising recognition following the tournament.

» Team fee $400: ludes cart fees and lunch for a team of four players.

» Hole sponsor $250: ludes hole sponsor signage and recognition at the tournament, company recognition in promotional materials, and advertising recognition following the tournament.

» Dean’s list $100: ludes sponsor recognition at the tournament.

» Honor Roll $50: ludes recognition at the tournament.
